Day four

Good Morning everyone!!! So it's the morning of day three in Antigua. We woke up early this morning to go to the gym. While we were working out it began to rain and is supposed to clear by this afternoon. After working out we decided to go straight to breakfast where we enjoyed a cup of coffee and omelets, fruit, and yogurt. So right now we are watching Freedom Writers and waiting for the rain to stop. Have a wonderful day and remember to smile. :)

Day Three - The Beach

Today we decided to hit the beach!  It's called "Burn Day"!  We started off at the gym.  Can you believe that?  The whole family went over and worked out for about an hour.  We did the tread mill and a little of the cyber machines!  Then it was time for the beach.  A hot June day in Antigua brings plenty of sun for the body and all of us enjoyed plenty of both!  I guess I got the most having the least amount of time in the sun to begin with?  The nice thing about the resort is that you are never to far from a bar so with some nice refreshing drinks, the hot sun is very bearable!  The beach front offers plenty of lounging spots with trees, huts and even shade awnings.  The island breezes would bring a cloud over once in a while just to give a break.  Late in the afternoon a quick little shower past over but it really didn't amount to much at all.
The beach bar and grill offers a lite fare so in the late afternoon we strolled up the steps to sit and enjoy a cheese pizza and some fish and chips.  The views are spectacular as we sit on the porch of our suites and gaze out over the bay and the ocean.  Suddenly we got the treat of a life time as a passing storm cloud brought us a beautiful rainbow!  We all sat on the porch watching the cloud pass over head and the rainbow show off its colors.  Another beautiful day in paradise will give us a night of dinner and entertainment.  Our family is so enjoying this precious time together and the resort is beautiful!  The people are wonderful.  Everyone one we meet and talk with is so friendly.  They simply can not do enough for you to make your stay the best.
So for now I say goodbye.  But if you ever are searching for a place to go away and rest, relaxation, spectacular view, fabulous food and wonderful friendly staff, The Verandah Resort and Spa in Antigua should be high on your list?  It certainly is on ours!

Day Two - The Arrival

Well, after an early morning rise and shine we caught the shuttle to the airport and just zipped right through security!  5:30 am and we are sitting at the gate waiting for a 7:40 am flight!  Oh we'll, I Love New York!  The flight to Antigua was nice and we were 30 minutes early getting into the airport.  Customs was a breeze and before long we were at The Verandah!  A nice lunch while our rooms were being prepared and then swimsuits and the pool!  We haven't found our favorite drink yet, but its early.  The weather is beautiful with a nice ocean breeze and a few passing clouds to break up the intense sun!  Oh we'll, time for a shower and then dinner.  Hope your having a great day because mine has been terrific!

Day One - The Prelude

Well, the long awaited day has come!  After a long day we left at 5:00 pm and headed to New York for a short night before getting up at 3:30 am to begin our trip to Antiqua.  The plane loads at 7:00 am  and we were told to arrive by 5:00 am to get through security.  Wow, if it wasn't a 4 hour flight, we could have left from South Jersey and security is really easy!  Well, this time tomorrow we will be at the Verandah Resort and Spa for 10 days of rest, relaxation and sun!  This has been 7 years in waiting and we are so looking forward to the time away with our girls!  Be back in touch with you soon!
